Consultations

If your pet needs to see a vet please book a consultation at either our Whakatane or Opotiki clinics. A normal consultation slot is 15 minutes so if you think you may need longer than this or you are bringing more than one animal, please let us know when booking your appointment.

We have two consult rooms at our Whakatane branch and one at our Opotiki branch. Whether your pet is ill, you need advice on nutrition, behaviour, preventative health or anything that concerns you, we are happy to help. Our staff have a wealth of knowledge and we really care about the health and happiness of your pets.

Some of the things you may wish to see one of our companion animal vets for include the following:

  • Illness/Injury
  • Emergencies
  • Vaccinations and Microchipping
  • Annual health checks
  • Geriatric blood tests
  • Repeat prescriptions
  • Euthanasia
  • Advice on:
    • Behaviour
    • Nutrition
    • Breeding
    • General management
    • Desexing

Hip and elbow scoring available: Dr Joanne Allen at the Opotiki Clinic is a fully accredited PennHIP scorer and offers both hip and elbow scoring for breeders from this clinic.

Afterhours Service: An emergency service is provided 24 hours a day seven days a week. When you phone either clinic your call will be diverted to a message centre who will take your details. The duty vet will be notified and will call you to discuss the case and/or organise a callout.

Please remember to bring your pet in securely restrained on either a lead or in a cage.

We look forward to seeing you!
