Dr SALLY GUMMER BVSc Veterinarian Sally has worked in the Whakatane clinic since 2000. She graduated from Massey University in 1980. Since then she has worked in Waiuku, North Shore, Auckland and Te Puke. She enjoys all aspects of small animal work, and her genuine empathy for families and their situations is a great asset to our practice. Outside of work Sally and her husband Ron, are kept busy with their two teenagers and their lifestyle block. Other interests include gardening, antiques and tending to the family and their many and various pets.
BEN MILLER Veterinarian Ben graduated from Massey University and previously worked as a Dairy Veterinarian in Ngatea. He is our main Dairy Veterinarian in Whakatane but you may also come across him during small animal consultations. Ben's main interest is in dairy cows, however he enjoys the variety of small and large animal work. Ben is loving the move to the sunny Bay of Plenty where he can enjoy activities such as fishing, surfing and diving.
Dr ANNA COCHRANE BVMS MRCVS Veterinarian Anna gained her qualifications from Glasgow, Scotland. From then until 2003, when she came to New Zealand she worked in a Mixed Practice in the Derry/ Donegal area of Ireland. Her main interest is in Sheep and Beef production, however she is truly a mixed practice Vet in Whakatane. Anna is married to Charles and they live on a small lifestyle block out of Waimana. She is currently job sharing with Mark as this gives her time at home to enjoy their daughter. Outside of work Anna enjoys most sports especially playing soccer and hockey socially in Whakatane. She has a flock of Texel sheep back in Scotland and a menagerie of other animals.
CAROLYN HAMILL Veterinarian
JUDE ANDERSON Reception/retail sales Jude started work at the vet clinic in 2005 and can be relied on to help out with most things (especially arranging a party). Jude and her husband Mike live at Taneatua on a lifestyle block, with fig trees, cattle and of course horses! She is a keen horse woman and has been known to ride in a little less than the rest of us, which got her a feature spot on Hyundai Sports Café with Barbs daughter.
REBECCA WRIGHT Veterinary Nurse Rebecca moved from Hamilton to Whakatane in 2007, and is looking forward to living, working and playing in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. She is in her early 30’s and has been Vet nursing for six years prior to moving to Whakatane. She enjoys looking after other peoples’ ‘babies’ and seeing them go home happy and healthy. Rebecca finds Vet nursing to be a very rewarding job, and is sure she will love being in Whakatane.
LISA ROSS Veterinary Nurse/Pet Shop Assistant Lisa joined our team in early 2010 and is a qualified Vet Nurse, gaining her Certificate in Vet Nursing from Bay of Plenty Polytechnic.

PERSIL The clinic cat Persil definitely has a mind of her own. She likes to test- run all the products, particularly all the new beds and toys.
